Glorified filmmaker, John Singleton is currently in a coma after reportedly suffering a massive stroke. The Boyz In The Hood director suffered a massive heart attack during a flight back to Los Angeles from Costa Rica last week.
According to his family, Singleton felt pain in his legs and decided check himself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A where he suffered the stroke. Although news got out that they acclaimed director suffered the stroke, the severity of the attack wasn’t apparent until now. The family members had previously described the stroke as "mild."
Last week legal documents were filed by Singleton’s mother, Shelia Ward, asking a judge to take over his affairs because he is "unable to properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter." Ward said that Singleton "was prepared to sign a lucrative settlement agreement last week" and she wants to make sure everything is handled properly while Singleton can't speak for himself. The 51-year old director did not have anything set up in case of an event like this happening. We are praying that John pulls through and for a speedy recovery!
