Nicki Minaj Spits Fire On Pop Smoke's "Welcome To The Party"

Every year, music heads all over are always looking to dub the hottest song of the summer for the hottest artists out at the time. This time, it seems as though rap’s new comer Pop Smoke is one of hip-hop’s strongest contenders. Buzzing out of Brooklyn, the native rhymer quickly took over the Tri-State area’s airwaves with his “Welcome To The Party” anthem. For the remix he made sure to keep NY on the map. In doing so, to amplify the addictive melody, Pop Smoke tapped Nicki Minaj for lyrical assistance.

Nicki has been featured on a slew of remixes to 2019’s hottest bops including DaBaby’s “Suge,” hip-hop’s Houston hottie, Megan Thee Stallion for her “Hot Girl Summer” anthem, and her Sagittarius team up with Trina for her “Project Bitch”-inspired track, “BAPS”.

On top of being featured on some of the hottest tracks of the summer, the Queen femcee has been busy speaking up on anybody who has crossed her. Her most recently addressed issue comes when she stopped through Joe Budden’s podcast. The subversive sound off aimed at Rick Ross for his name dropping verse in “Apple Of My Eye” off of his hot new, Port Of Miami 2 album. Coming off her unapologetic clap back, Minaj has dropped off another remix. Today (August 15th), marks the arrival of her official “Welcome To The Party” remix with Pop Smoke. The track boasts that the Queen is back as the lyrical bully with hard hitting bars that are as sharp as ever.

This comes after the "Scenario" rapper recently debuted his Meet The Woo mixtape on July 26th. One of the 9-cuts is "Welcome to the Party" and was played during a listening event sponsored by Tidal. Once the chorus wrapped, Nicki Minaj's compelling verse followed and sent the crowd in a positive uproar.

The clip of the 808 Melo-produced track made its rounds on the Internet, but now we finally have the full version! Shortly after the hype of Nicki’s previewed verse, a version featuring YG as well as Meek Mill has also surfaced. No word on when either of those tracks will be officially released, but given the smoke that's on Pop Smoke's trail, I bet it’ll be sooner than later.

It’s great to hear the “old Onika” sounding gritty and hungry again. Lyrically, she keeps it relatively simple, but her execution of the rapid-fire spitting rhymes is powerful enough to leave you wanting more. For now, enjoy the hot new “Welcome To The Party” remix featuring Nicki Minaj.
