Now it’s move over “Thank U, Next” and hello “7 Rings” -the new women’s anthem of the year.
Ariana Grande closed out the fourth quarter of 2018 strong after the release of her Hot 100 chart topping smash,“Thank U, Next.” The single was her thank you note to all of the men she loved before and the break-up anthem for the ages. It’s also the lead single off of her forthcoming fifth studio album of the same name. The trending new record was shortly followed up with a 90s female lead Rom-Com inspired visual. Now Grande is back with more hits, very similar to the bass-heavy sound from her previous release, “Imagine.” Post Sweetener era, “7 Rings” is the most Hip-Hop influenced song she’s released.
Ariana’s latest single is a rework of “My Favorite Things” from the classic The Sound Of Music. The most recent break up single is about financial independence and using retail therapy to solve all of your problems. To quote: "Whoever said money can't solve your problems must not have had enough money to solve 'em." In the pink-hued visual, Ari is seen with six of her girlfriends shopping at Tiffany’s to cop matching diamond rings. They ladies are then seen rocking their new bling while partying in the mansion filled with diamonds, graffiti and a champagne tower.
After watching, naturally all of the vibes are being meme’d all throughout social media. Now it’s time for all of us to go drain our bank accounts and splurge on ourselves with diamonds, champagne, and more.
