On the 4th of July, JID delivered his own set of fireworks with the release of his new 4 track EP, GDLU (Preluxe) - a warm-up project teasing what's to come from his next full-length album. Featuring Lil Yachty, 6lack, and a standout verse from Eminem, this EP doesn't just build hype - it demands your attention.

The most talked about track? Animals (Pt. 1) - a high-speed lyrical display between JID and Eminem, where neither artist lets up for a second with their cadence, rhyme structure, and wordplay. The energy on the track is relentless from start to finish, however, Eminem's verse has social media dissecting every bar. Back in his AI-generated Slim Shady voice, the same one used on The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), Em blends chaotic flow with precision punches. One bar in particular is stirring controversy:
"I do it like Puff do it, tell my hitters to hit 'em up, 'do it,' / So like my middle fingers to a Tupac song, you know that I put 'em up to it."

This line packs layers: a renewed jab at Diddy, a nod to Tupac's iconic "Hit 'Em Up," and a signature middle-finger attitude from Mr. Controversy himself. However, it's not the first shot at Puff, Eminem previously lashed out in "Fuel," a collab with JID on the same Slim Shady album. But it's not just Diddy in his crosshairs. Kanye West is also catching a stray into the verse, stating:
"With these magazines I act out like Ye and his cousin, little c*cksucker, I'm sprayin and bussin, your sh*t sucks d*ck stop saying it doesn't."
Marshall's jabs come at a time of real-world drama for Diddy. On July 2, 2025, he was found guilty of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution but was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking. As of right now Sean Combs remains jailed with denied bond and awaits sentencing in October. This track isn't just bars, it's positioning. Eminem re-establishes Slim Shady as a villain persona steeped in controversy and confrontation. JID holds his own, and the pairing ramps up hype for both artists' upcoming releases.

Who do you think had the best verse on Animals (Pt. 1)? And with Eminem resurrecting Slim Shady punching at Puff, do you think will ever respond? Give us your take in the comments below and stay tuned for more JID content here on Minnee Movement Media!
