In 2015, news surfaced that Chance The Rapper would be starring in a horror comedy film, Slice. Following the announcement, in 2016 the initial 30 minute trailer debuted. Fast forward to now without almost any warning you can rent or buy to watch the horror film on iTunes and all digital platforms! The film is a story about a killing spree targeted on pizza boys with a ghost, a werewolf, and a pizza spot where the villains are hiding in plain sight. Chicago lyricist Chance stars as the werewolf pizza delivery boy in the murder mystery. Also starring in the horror comedy film is “Atlanta’s” Zazie Beetz, “Insecure’s” Y’lan Noel, Paul Scheer, and “Fear the Walking Dead’s” Rae Gray. The Austin Vesely directed film premiered last night at Chicago’s ArcLight Cinemas in Lincoln Park. Once the showings were announced Chicago’s sold out almost immediately followed by Brooklyn and Boston. Fans lined the red carpet, snapping photos of the cast and crew, including Chance, before heading inside. The movie didn’t try to disguise itself as anything but independent, and turned out well even with a limited budget and a whole lot of DIY spirit. You can watch the trailer below along with some Q&A’s from the cast at the world premiere.
