Following the hype behind the release of his highly anticipated album, ‘Tha Carter V,’ Lil’ Wayne is back and all in with the music. After announcing that him and his label Young Money are no longer apart of Cash Money Records, Wayne dropped the fifth installment that was put on hold for years under the CMB umbrella.
Since the split, there haven’t been any new signees to the Young Money roster, but that doesn’t mean Wayne isn’t scouting new talent for his empire. Looks like Weezy has been busy snatching up the hottest emerging athletes to date for his sports agency, Young Money APAA.
The “Uproar” lyricist announces that one of the NFL’s top draft prospects, DeAndre Baker, has inked a deal with Wayne’s agency. Wayne took to social media to reveal the news that Baker has signed to Young Money Sports. He shared a short video clip to share the announcement. Throughout the clip a few of DB’s accolades are shared while “Uproar” plays in the background.
This is exciting news! Baker is nice on the field and has been praised for his skills. He was a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award and has also won the Jim Thorpe Award for the best DB in the nation. Baker played for the Georgia Bulldogs and is rumored to most likely be in the top half of April’s first round picks. Congratulations to Weezy and Baker for the new deal!
